This is a lovely and hard to find hand colored photograph, titled "The Bridesmaid." It was done and signed by Fred Thompson (1844-1923). The artist was another of New England's popular photographers, along with Wallace Nutting. In addition, there is a copyright symbol and raised lettering of TACO, which stood for Thompson Art Company.
The photograph is on top of an indented mat. It is in a veneered wood frame with glass, a dust cover with framing studio label, and a wire for hanging.
